Parent and Caregiver Support and Resources

Trail Association for Community Living is supportive of families, we have a designated person on the board of directors that works as an advocate on behalf of the family of the clients. This person is responsible for ensuring that the families request for needs are met and fulfilled and whose purpose is to strengthen and support families faced with the extraordinary circumstances that come with having a family member who has a disability. Parents are the experts when it comes to understanding their own children.

As parents search for services and programs, they often require information, encouragement and support.  We work with families to help them solve problems and build confidence.  This enables families to make informed choices.

Upcoming workshops that may be of interest to Parents, Families and Caregivers, if you hear of anything that may be of interest to other caregivers please pass the info on to Sandy at, she will post info and share on our facebook page.

Your Right to Conflict Resolution at Trail Association for Community Living

The Trail Association for Community Living understands that sometimes when people work together, they do not always agree.  If you, or others who know you well, disagree with something, there is a way to help everyone involved to openly talk and resolve issues.

 Conflict Resolution:

  • If you, or a family member has a disagreement with something that was said or done at TACL:
  • Talk to a TACL staff member first, if they are unable to help you…
  • Talk to the supervisor of the program to find out what can be done
  • The two of you might decide to meet with the other person involved so that you can talk about the problem
  • If your concern is not resolved, you can choose to go to the formal process
  • Click for more information and to read our policy on Complaint Management
